Chapter 362

The Holy Ling warrior used his ram’s horn to ram the blocking Red Hyena beastmen, rushing down the gentle slope at full speed, heading straight into the Hei Yao (Black Shine) ranks.

Ling Ping brandished her bone knife, laughing loudly, “Never thought we would fight together again one day!”

Zhao leapt from the back of Hu Ji to Qi Bai’s side: “Looks like we’ll be tasting victory with Hei Yao once more.”

“You’re here!”

Even though the agreement had been made long ago, Qi Bai’s eyes were still full of surprise upon seeing everyone.

“Hmph hmph!”

Luo Shu called out twice defiantly. Though he hadn’t participated in the Bone War, don’t forget about him either.

Lang Ze’s blood-stained silver-white fur gleamed brilliantly on the snowfield as he howled loudly, head thrown back.

“Awooo~”

The majestic wolf howl was like a sound wave, instantly spreading across the entire snowy plain.

This was both a sign of respect to the Hei Yao allies and the signal for the whole army to attack.

“Dong dong dong!”

“Sasa sa!”

The drumbeats in the center of the battlefield suddenly changed. The warriors, who had been ready to strike, immediately shifted formation.

Bear Han, clad in refined iron armor, rubbed his fists eagerly.

Finally, it was their turn. These Red Hyenas were not as tough as Cang Xie. If they didn’t act soon, they would miss their chance!

“Dong dong dong dong dong!”

The rapid drumbeats rang out. The five army generals standing at the front roared simultaneously, and all the soldiers moved out together.

They were like spreading wings or outstretched long arms, advancing like a great rainbow toward the enemy to encircle them.

The Red Hyena beastmen in the middle of the battlefield thought the dark shadows rushing at them were still the stones and logs thrown by the Giant Wind beastmen, so they hurriedly dodged to the side.

But then, they watched helplessly as those “giant stones” changed direction, revealing pairs of excited eyes.

Charging at them were not wooden logs, but Hei Yao beastmen clad in armor.

When the two armies clashed, Hei Yao’s overwhelming momentum instantly broke through the scattered defense lines of the Red Hyenas.

Thought Hei Yao only did ranged attacks?

Big mistake!

Their Hei Yao beastmen were each the most elite warriors!

The Bear warriors wildly swung their bear paws; their full-body leather armor was the best defense, and no one could stop their advance.

The horse- and donkey-shaped beastmen raised their front hooves high, using their iron-hooves tipped with spikes to carve out a bloody path.

The giant tower-like Giant Wind beastmen were even more like mobile war machines.

They formed combat units of five: two sub-beastmen stood on the Giant Wind’s shoulders shooting bows and arrows; two leopard beastmen flanked them, always alert for sneaky enemies.

The Giant Wind beastmen themselves swung massive ten-meter hammers, clearing enemies as easily as cutting wild grass.

Slowly arriving, Song Wu Holy Ling and Qing Chi warriors did not fall behind.

The camel beastmen lowered their long heads to ram enemies down; passing by, fiery tiger and fierce lion beastmen bared their fangs and tore them apart.

The Holy Ling sub-beastmen warriors, also armored, danced their long bone knives fiercely.

In the center of the battlefield, a huge white wolf faced off against a red-backed hyena. The aura of these two level-three warriors was so powerful that even the fighting beastmen instinctively gave them a large empty space.

At the edge of this open ground, Hei Yao’s general and a level-two Red Hyena warrior were locked in a stalemate, neither giving an inch.

“Wuu!”

The white wolf lowered its body and growled provocatively.

“Howl!”

The enraged red-backed hyena’s fur bristled, emitting a low hoarse roar, charging first toward Lang Ze.

But just as the hyena was about to strike, the white wolf’s pointed ears twitched suddenly, and it flashed aside with lightning speed.

“Puchi!”

A massive blade whirled like a tornado, flying across the open ground, barely stopping before the crowd.

“Tick, tick...”

Suddenly, the battlefield fell silent, only the sound of blood burning the snow.

“Huff... huff...”

The hyena’s body was still in attack posture. It looked down in disbelief at its limbs gradually separating from its body.

“Bang!”

The next moment, its body crashed heavily to the ground, eyes staring wildly ahead as if about to pop out.

“Hit! Success! Hahaha! My baby! My baby killed a level-three warrior! Hahahahahaha!”

In the dead silence, Hou Su’s ecstatic voice rang loud and clear. He pressed his face tightly against the cold mechanism, as if wanting to merge his entire body with it.

Qi Bai licked his bloodied teeth.

Do they really think he doesn’t exist?

Lang Ze was Hei Yao’s city lord, their strongest warrior. For his mission, he faced the most dangerous enemies.

But that didn’t mean Lang Ze was invincible or immune to pain.

The scars Lang Ze carried from fighting the hyena clan reminded Qi Bai every day that he had to do something to protect his partner.

Under no circumstances should Lang Ze face level-three horned beast warriors alone again.

The mechanical blade, taking nearly two years to build, was prepared specifically for hyena warriors like that.

Though its attack range wasn’t large, once the enemy entered its range, whether level-three warriors or temple priests, as long as you were still flesh and blood, you couldn’t withstand its attack.

The Red Hyena forces, already patched together, lost two priests and were even more scattered than loose sand. Facing the surging Hei Yao warriors, they lost their last ability to resist.

Bear Pan lay on the ground, listening to the sounds around slowly fade.

Death—this man had truly brought the breath of death...

The setting sun dyed the snowy plain red; the cold wind scattered the thick blood smell.

Amid the sea of corpses, four figures seemed somewhat out of place.

“If others don’t offend me, I don’t offend others. If others offend me, I must repay tenfold.”

Qi Bai said calmly, “If Lord Shenshi doesn’t believe it, he can come and try it himself.”

“If others don’t offend me, I don’t offend others,” Mu Jia quietly repeated Qi Bai’s words, then suddenly shook his head with a light laugh, “You truly have the right to do so.”

Mu Jia looked toward the giants clearing the battlefield in the distance, thought of the death of the hyena clan, closed his eyes and said, “The Grand Priest wants to see you.”

Inside the main tent.

Niu Shuo asked confusedly, “Do we really have to go again?”

Yun Jing and the others frowned.

If not for Lang Ze having Wolf Ji return to the city early, and Wolf Ji rushing with his troops day and night in time, they would surely have suffered heavy losses at the hands of the people in the Beast God City. That place was no good no matter how you looked at it.

Besides, could Mu Jia’s words be trusted? No one could be sure if he had other schemes.

Cang Xie scoffed, “If they dare harm us, we’ll just take down their Sacred City Mountain.” That place sounded quite interesting.

“...”

Bear Han’s thoughts were suddenly sparked. Her eyes shone brightly as she looked at Lang Ze and Qi Bai expectantly.

Is it possible?

“Ahem,” Qi Bai cleared his throat and changed the subject, “Don’t forget, we won a victory, but we haven’t yet gained the spoils.”

Qi Bai instinctively felt the Grand Priest had truths he wanted to uncover, but he wouldn’t risk everyone for this so-called truth.

Claiming spoils from the Red Hyena was something Hei Yao absolutely had to do. It was best done in the Beast God City. Only then would those people understand Hei Yao was not a city to be bullied.

At the mention of spoils, everyone immediately perked up.

The Red Hyena camp had already been swept clean by Hei Yao’s Song Wu and others. There were quite a few items, but since it was a battlefield, most of what they captured was food and worn beast skins. Good stuff was scarce, so by this reckoning, they truly suffered losses.

“Bie Ba.”

“Here!”

Hearing Lang Ze call him, Bie Ba nervously squeezed out from the crowd.

“You take the tribes you subdued in Pengye and Dongyi back to the North Continent first. Wolf Zhan and Hu Qiao will escort you with troops.”

“Yes!”

As for the true centurion of this squad, Cang Xie, who was about to be promoted as Hei Yao’s sixth general, had already stated he only fought wars and wouldn’t do escort missions. Don’t ask him to take people back to the city; he wanted to go to Beast God City to check things out.

“Everyone else,” Lang Ze said, “prepare to break camp and head to Beast God City.”

The attendant scrambled, tumbling into the magnificent hall, trembling as he knelt at the low table, lips quivering: “Wang... Wang...”

Pai Mu’s eyes darkened: “Speak!”

“The Red Hyenas lost,” the attendant cried with sobs, “Wang Priest and Qin Priest both died. The Red Hyenas are defeated!”

“Gulu lu...”

The chess piece in Pai Mu’s hand fell to the ground, rolling uncontrollably across the floor.

“What did you say!” Pai Mu overturned the chessboard in front of him, shouting, “You damn thing, who? Who told you to lie to me! Bao Yong... Pai Chang... who! Who exactly!”

“Heh... heh heh...”

Facing Pai Mu’s rage, the attendant lay on the floor, not daring to breathe.

Yet in the hall came intermittent, hoarse laughter.

Pai Mu suddenly stopped.

He slowly turned around, his face twisted as he looked at the Grand Priest lying on the bed.

“How could I forget you?”

Pai Mu raised his hands and walked step by step toward the bed, speaking with almost gentle voice:

“It’s you, Mu Wei. It must be you trying to deceive me like this. I won’t be fooled.”

Suddenly, Pai Mu reached out and strangled the Grand Priest’s neck tightly:

“Just die! If you die, the Central Temple will be mine!!!”

“Let go of the Grand Priest!”

Before Mu Jia finished speaking, Pai Mu was forcefully thrown aside and slammed against the wall.

“Grand Priest,” Mu Jia quickly helped the Grand Priest up, anxiously checking his condition, “Liao Priest...”

Mu Jia looked toward Bao Xi: “Go quickly and get Liao Priest here!”

“No need...”

The Grand Priest grabbed Mu Jia’s hand, struggling to sit up.

He fixed his gaze on the shadow behind the bed curtain, trembling as he asked, “Is it you... Divine Son... have you come here?”

Qi Bai and Lang Ze exchanged a glance, then stepped forward, walking to the center of the hall.
